ARCHITECTS: MOSHE SAFDIE (2010)
Marina Bay Sands, an integrated resort fronting on Marina Bay, is probably one of the most distinguishable structures in the world.
It is owned by the Las Vegas Sands corporation and according to Wikipedia, was billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion.
One of the prominent features is the 3 acre SkyPark on top of the building with swimming pools, gardens, and jogging paths.
We arrived at the cruise ship docks in Singapore at 10:00 am after over 37 hours traveling on three separate flights from our home in Oregon.
We had planned to visit the site before our ship sailed at 4:00pm, but, ready to drop, I had to be satisfied with photographing the structure from the outside.
I would hope someday to come back and see the interior and, especially, the SkyPark with its views of the city below.
We learned that a forth tower is in the plans for the future.
The resort is highly visable from the cruise terminal as was the Marina Bay Gardens next door.
My rating (below) is based on the beauty and shear audacity of the architecture as seen from the exterior.
